Placement of small products
Small items, like chocolate bars or waffles, if possible, should be placed on the higher shelves of the gondola, where they're easily recognizable in terms of quantity picked up.
As the cameras in stores are located above the gondolas looking downwards, small items placed in the bottom areas might be hard to count if the shopper picks up a few of them during one interaction.
The lower the shelf, the more dense the view is (see the examples below) and, especially in smaller stores, it might be additionally obscured by the shelves above or the shoppers themselves.
Multiple bigger-size items, if grabbed at once, can be easier to recognize from different camera angles, hence our recommendation to place them in the lower areas of the gondolas.
