Metrics page

The AiFi Metrics page provides a comprehensive array of key metrics and dashboards to review, analyze, and derive insights from your stores' sales and foot traffic data. These standard metrics are available to all AiFi clients by default, without any additional cost.

Global Rules

Time window

Cohort timestamp: All receipt/session metrics are filtered by Shopping Session Created At (aka Customer Entry Time, session_created_at) within the selected timeframe.

Exclusions Unless stated otherwise, metrics exclude: Employees, Testers, Unregistered Visitors, Externally Added Items.

Key terms

  • Visitor: A person who enters the store without registration. Currently, this data isn't displayed in Metrics. Not all visitors convert into shoppers, as they may simply browse the store or make a purchase through a cashier in a hybrid journey.
  • Shopper: A registered individual who didn't purchase any product. Not all shoppers convert into customers, as they may register but not make a purchase.
  • Customer: A registered individual who purchases at least one product. By definition, only customers receive receipts.
  • Shopping Group: A group perceived as individual shoppers (For example, five people registered together are counted as five shoppers but one shopping group). If any group member makes a purchase, the entire group is considered customers, hence the metrics will reflect five customers.
  • Foot Traffic: The total count of all registered individuals in the store during a specified time frame, combining shoppers and customers.
  • Receipts: Orders containing one or more products. Note that the total number of customers may differ from the total number of receipts if multiple customers belong to a single shopping group.
  • Registration: The act of authorizing in the store through an app or credit card.
  • Conversion Rate: The percentage of registered individuals who make a purchase.
  • Retention Rate: The percentage of returning customers who make another purchase within a selected time frame.
  • Average Trip Time: The average duration between registered entry and exit by customers.
  • Average Basket Value/Size: The total value or quantity of products sold, divided by the number of receipts within the selected time frame.

Metrics page sections

The Metrics page contains four sections:

  1. Overview: Key metrics from your stores.
  2. Revenue & Payments: Data related to the value of receipts and payments.
  3. Receipts & Items: Data concerning the volume and quantities of sold items.
  4. Foot Traffic & Customers: Data regarding the number of customers, traffic and shopping trips.

Overview

The Overview section highlights key sales and performance metrics for your stores, including the volume and value of receipts and items sold, as well as foot traffic and conversion rate.

You can select the time frame and source for the metrics displayed just above these tiles.

Revenue & Payments

This section provides key financial data from your stores.

Metric NameDefinition
Total RevenueTotal amount successfully collected to date, including fully and partially collected receipts.
Net SalesSubtotal value of completed and paid receipts before tax in the selected timeframe.
TaxesTotal taxes applied to completed and paid receipts in the selected timeframe.
Average Basket ValueAverage value of completed and paid receipts within the selected timeframe.

| Partial Capture | Amount successfully collected when only part of the payment succeeded (typically the pre-authorized amount). Remaining balance is still in recovery or may become unpaid. | | Authorized | Amount currently reserved on the shopper’s payment method and still available for capture. Not yet collected and may change as payment attempts continue. | | Recovering | Remaining receipt value still in active recovery. Receipts & Items

This section contains key data on the volume of sales in your stores.

Metric NameDefinition
Total ReceiptsTotal number of receipts generated in the selected time frame. Receipts are orders with at least one product.
Total Items SoldTotal number of products sold in the selected time frame, counted individually. Note: excludes Externally Added Items (deposits, fees, surcharged)
Average Basket SizeTotal Items Sold divided by Total Receipts.
Unique Products SoldNumber of unique products sold during the selected time frame.
Products by VolumeList of products that generated the most sales by volume in the selected time frame. Excludes Externally Added Items.

Foot Traffic & Customers

This section provides key data on customers and foot traffic in your stores.

Metric NameDefinition
Total Foot TrafficTotal number of registered people that visited the store. Note: doesn't include non-registered visitors and employees
Total CustomersTotal number of people that registered in the store (alone or in a group) and made a purchase.
Conversion RateShare of people who registered in the store and made a purchase.
Retention RatePercentage of customers that returned to the store and made a purchase within the selected time frame.
Average Trip TimeTotal shopping time divided by the number of receipts.
Shopping FrequencyNumber of times a unique customer made a purchase in the store within the selected time frame.
